Nokia announced their success in testing 4G. The test was made in Berlin with 2.6 Gz spectrum and can reach a maximum speed up to 173 Mbps. In order to support the test, Nokia built a prototype base station on top of Heinrich Hertz Institute located in center of Berlin.With this test, Nokia found the proof that current base station can be used without building any new antennas. It will be a convenient for any company to upgrade their system from 3G to 4G.3GPP is targeting to start this new technology in 2010.
